Myrtle Beach

Our mini vacay and little detour on our tour route was so relaxing and well deserved! We spend our first day in Myrtle Beach playing around on the beach and looking for shells. We walked up and down the boardwalk and enjoyed the scenery of the sand, ocean, and palm trees. It was a little chilly but that definitely did not stop us from having a good time! Today was rainy and I was a little bummed at first. We made the best of the day though and all got pedicures ... yes all of us, including John! Then went shopping and to Margaritaville for dinner :) Off to Gamecock country tomorrow for a weekend full of college baseball .. goodbye beach!! :(

This is what tour is all about

Since I last updated we have been having a blast! I have been crazy busy with work and being in new cities, but right now we are on a much deserved mini vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC!

Being in Savannah for St Pattys day was awesome! We learned that Savannah has the 2nd biggest St Pattys Celebration in the United States, and it was a lot of fun to be apart of the festivities. It was my first time in a few years celebrating the holiday sober, but it was worth it just to be there. On our day off Celeste and I went to Tybee Island for a relaxing day on the beach and for some wonderful seafood. It was so nice to be on the beach, its really where I belong. The whole island was beautiful, and I cant wait to go back!! Two of our bosses from the office came down to "help out" but I think they were really there to party! haha We had a lot of fun hanging out with them and being right on the river for the weekend!

Our next stop was St Petersburg, FL but we got to stop in Orlando for a few days first. It was so good to see Lauren, Cassie, and Morgan. I miss them terribly, and it was good to catch up with them and be on my old stomping ground. We took Celeste to Universal/Islands of Adventure for her first time and she was hilarious ... trying to make the day worth every penny!! I cant wait to see my lovely ladies again ... hopefully in the near future!

We made the short trip to St Pete for the first Indy Car Race of the season. We worked with a lot of internal Marketing Werks people and the Motor Sports Teams and had a huge event site supporting Will Power who is the Verizon sponsored racer. John and I became big Indy Race Car fans over the weekend and can't wait until we go to Birmingham in April to be apart of another race! I requested to work the race in Iowa in June so everyone cross your fingers I get to come home for a few days!!

We are now in route to Columbia, SC where the Univ of South Carolina is located for a few Gamecock baseball games. We had a few days off though so we made a little detour for a relaxing mini vacay in Myrtle Beach. I love beach towns and it feels so nice to be here and get our minds off work.

We have a new perspective of tour and decided to stop eating at chain restaurants and stop at those random little spots during our drives. This is what tour is about ... seeing new places and trying things you wouldnt normally do. I am so blessed to have such wonderful teammates and I would not trade them for anything.

Keep in touch, I miss everyone so very much!!

xoxo

Becoming a Minority

Soo I have been really bad at updating this, I knew I wasn't going to be so great at keeping a blog. Keep on me though, if you like reading this you have to keep reminding me to update it for you!!

So we left ATL and headed to Auburn for the weekend. Auburn was beautiful the campus was very scenic and the little town was a lot of fun. It reminded me of being back in college, the good old days! ha It was really cool to see where my old Florida roomie Cassie went to school and actually experience some of the things she used to tell me about. Over the last few months between living with her and now visiting the city, I have become a new little Auburn Fan!

After the short weekend in Auburn we left to go to Charlotte for the CIAA Basketball Tournament. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We thought it would be a small tournament with just the normal basketball crowd. We were definitely wrong to say the least. The CIAA Tournament is the biggest African American event to celebrate their culture in that area. Thousands of people were in Charlotte from all over the South and Northeast. Being on an African American based Street Team I am slowly realizing what it is like to be a minority. Pretty much every event with this one being the peak I have been one of the only Caucasian people there. This is not at all a bad thing, I am just learning a lot about their culture that I would have never known. The event in Charlotte was pretty terrible because the fans were so angry we would not give them more free things, we would get cursed out everyday. Going out in Charlotte with all of the girls who came down from Chicago to help out and Celeste was a blast though! We had a few girls nights out on the town and they showed me what nightlife outside of Iowa is all about.

We left Charlotte to come back to our home away from home Atlanta! We have been here all week and just wrapped up the GA High School BBall Tournament last night. Oh to be in high school again .. we played a fun game where we tried to pick out what each other were like back in the day. Of course I was pegged as the girl with all of her friends holding hands with a boy ... I guess they werent too far off were they? Ha We get to enjoy today and tomorrow with very little work before we head to Savannah!

I can't wait for the next few weeks. Savannah, GA for St Pattys Festival on the River, then we head to FLORIDA and get to go to my old stomping ground!!

I have already set a reminder to update my blog this week, so check back :)

XOXO
